BF3 Disconnects, Crashes, Lagging fixed

When I first started playing BF3 I did get quite a few problems.
These are all now resolved, and hopefully how I resolved them might help somebody.

They are only things that worked for me, although I did try to do one thing, test, then put it back if it hadn't resolved it.

The problems I was having were pretty much in three types

Random disconnects
These used to drive me bugshit as they always seemed to happen if I was doing well (well for me that is)
Solved by opening up the ports as shown in this post

If you haven't got a router that allows port forwarding, you're in trouble

Game Glitching/Lagging/Crashing whilst playing
Improved by updating my graphics drivers. Check what card you've got in your pc and download the drivers from ATI or Nvidia. Don't get them from anywhere else unless you trust the site.
Solved by this great little package http://www.iobit.com/download.html
There are lots of good utilities there, but the ones that did it for me were either Advanced System Care or Game Booster.
Can't tell which as I did them both together.
To use the gamebooster for BF3 you need to drag BF3 icon into the game area.

i left everything else standard, but donut changed a lot of things, the settings are here

Disconnect/Crash on Map Changes
Solved by opening up the ports as above

The other things that I tried, that had no effect were in no particular order
Defragging drives
Turning off unpnp discovery, turning off network discovery, turning off ipnp or something
Updating PunkBuster
Disabling anti-virus

I turned all my fancy graphics settings to low and the textures down to High. Now playable :) Roll on the big patch though...

I thought you'd like to know that all my settings are set to high and I very rarely have trouble. Must be the quality NVidia drivers. ATI always have bad drivers......
